My husband and I had our first "holiday" with his family yesterday. We joined his mother's side of the family for the Lee Family Fall Fest and Hayride:) Their version of thanksgiving. It was a lot of fun. John Roy had his first hayride, he was there last year but he was only a month old and it was chilly so he didn't ride. But this year he had a blast playing in the straw on the wagon:) It was a beautiful day!
Anyway, this was the hardest day yet. There was not a lot of food choices for me and the temptations were everywhere between the cupcakes, apple crisp, and smores!!! But I am proud to say that I didn't eat anything I shouldn't have! :) I even took my own unsweet iced tea so I would not be tempted by the lemon aide. I did so want a dessert though. I would love to have taken the sugar free brownies that are in the BFC book but I can not find the Maltitol anywhere! I have been to all three health food stores in my area and none of them carry it or have even heard of it! Do you think I could use Truvia instead? I am desperate for a dessert!!!! Does anyone have any other ideas or recipes for a sweet treat? PLEASE SHARE!!! :)
Great job on sticking with the plan and not blowing it. I made the Ice Cream in his book for something sweet, but it also calls for the maltitol. I found mine at a low carb store but I am sure you could find it online. I have also bought online the vitalicious muffin tops or muffins (sugar free) I use the lindt 85% choc. Or I use the jay robb choc protein powder w/unsweetned almond breeze and a little instant coffee put it in a blender with some ice and it is like drinking a frap from starbucks. Do you have his book? It gives a few products you can buy for the sweet tooth.
ReplyDeleteYou did so great by passing up all that good stuff!! I know how hard that can be. Be strong and Keep on BFC'n :-)
ReplyDeletecarbsmart.com has all the BFC approved products including malitol. I hope you haven't given up, you were doing so good. I have the icecream every night. The brownies are delicious!!!
